Cruise the most scenic part of the Yangtze River - Three Gorges from Yichang to Chongqing, and bear witness to the amazing landscape. See ancient sites and remote rural villages, and get an up-close look at the world's largest hydroelectric plant, the Three Gorges Dam. Be awed by the spectacular Three Gorges and the Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong Stream. Watch monkeys frolicking along the verdant Emerald Gorge and see gorgeous landscapes.

Day 1 Fly from Shanghai to Yichang
Met by your private driver at Yichang Sanxia Airport, transfer to city center, enjoy a dinner at a local restaurant prior to boarding your deluxe floating hotel for the start of your magical Yangtze cruise. (D)

Day 2 Three Gorges Dam Tour
A wonderful day is ahead! Three Gorges Dam The ship casts off at 08:30 hrs. We set sail this morning along the massive Xiling Gorge to arrive at the Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest reservoir project. The dam is 2.3km long and 185m high. We pass through a five-stage lock to reach the higher level. This evening we have the Captain’s Welcome Party, which includes a lively show given by the crew.

Day 3 Lesser Three Gorges
Today we offer a spectacular trip on small boats through the shallow waters of the “Lesser Three Gorges”, through steep cliffs and against a mountainous backdrop. The banks are lined with bamboo bushes, old trees and streams and in the background we have the huge rock formations. On re-boarding your cruise we pass the Wu Gorge (the most impressive of the three Great Gorges and also known as the Witches’Gorge) and on upstream to the Qutang Gorge. Between the two gorges we see small, picturesque villages, where time appears to have stood still.

Day 4 Fengdu This morning we make a stop in Fengdu to visit the nearby Snow Jade Caves, which were only recently discovered by local farmers. These limestone caves, dating back over 50,000 years, extend over 1.6km. This evening we are invited to the festive Captain’s Dinner.

Day 5 Chongqing
After breakfast passengers disembark at around 08:00, met by driver and transfer to Chongqing airport, and fly back to Shanghai (you may travel to another destination other than Shanghai, see options below)
