Its name came from Tibetan language Gonggashan, meaning the silver-snowing mountain. In that area, Tibetan people and Han people have been living together for many years. Added to famous President Cruise Line on Yangtze River, this ship was built in 1996, 76.1 meters long and 13.8 meters wide with a draft of 2.5 meters, it is equipped with two engines up to 1960 h.p.
Interior decorations of the Snow Mountain came from inspirations of both Tibetan and Han cultures. For those travellers that are keen on Tibetan people and their living style, religion and arts, this cruiser and aboard life could provide them more to learn without having to fly to Tibet. Eventually, the Snow Mountain already earned a fame for it unique Buddha-Prostrate Room, delicious foods and colorful ashore or aboard programs.
