My husband & I were just on the President One down the Yangtze River. Being on the ship was a facinating experience, you get such a different view of life in China on & around the river. The ship itself was fine for the number of days you are on it. The services rendered were very satisfactory. People on board tried to make your stay a pleasant one with the availabilty of programs day and night ( if you wish to participate.). You are off the ship during the day taking tours set up by your tour group. The food was plentiful and good. The dining area was very nice. The beds are hard but the rooms are adequate for the time you are in them . We were glad that we went took the river cruise! elsmls (Monday, 12 May 2008) Rating:
The Yangtze river cruise, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience but by this time we had been traveling for one month in Japan and China and we were looking forward to a few days of relaxation. We boarded the President No. 1 Cruise ship on the afternoon of October 24 at Chongqing and arrived in Yichang at noon on October 27. The ship was very nice (although not the most expensive ). Our room had a private balcony overlooking the river, the crew members were excellent in taking care of the passengers, and the food was some of the best we had in China. Our table was very international with couples from Australia, England, France, and a Chinese couple. The side trip we took was a transer to smaller ships going into the Shennong Stream. A truly beautiful small river with its own Gorges. For our particular situation the cruise was worth the time.! |
